Bill Perkins Makes Big Prop Bets with Joe Ingram, Jamie & Matt Staples

jamie-matt-staples-poker-prop-betsHedge fund manager and poker player Bill Perkins has become well renowned for his prop bets. And Perkins is at it again, this time making big wagers with Poker Life Podcast host Joe Ingram, and Twitch streamers Matt and Jamie Staples.

In the first prop bet, Perkins is betting that brothers Jamie and Matt Staples can’t get within 1 pound of body weight of each other in a year’s time. And Perkins is giving the duo 50-to-1 odds on a $3,000 bet, meaning they stand to win $150,000.

These sound like generous odds, but the catch is that Jamie weighs 315 pounds (140kg) while Matt weighs 135 pounds (60kg). This means Jamie must lose serious weight while Matt will have to gain major poundage.

Joe Ingram Must Swim 1 Mile to Win Prop Bet

chicago-joey-ingramAs for Joe “ChicagoJoey” Ingram, he has to swim 1 mile to win $15,000 from Perkins. According to Quora, 30 minutes is a decent time, meaning this bet doesn’t seem so unreasonable. But as you’ll see from Ingram’s tweet below, there’s a big catch:

“I booked a swimming prop bet w/ @bp22, my 5k to win 15k, must swim 1 mile by end of Sept down in St. Thomas. I’ve never swam in my life.”

Not only must Ingram learn to swim, but he can’t use any equipment to assist him. The only comfort to Ingram is that he’ll be swimming in the beautiful waters of Christmas Cove in St. Thomas (Virgin Islands).

Perkins doesn’t mind what happens win or lose, tweeting the following:

“I don’t think I made a horrible bet because I’m going to be entertained no matter what.”

Other Bill Perkins Prop Bets

bill-perkins-yacht-pokerBill Perkins has created a lot of buzz with his prop bets with poker players. He once wagered Dan Bilzerian $600,000 that he couldn’t bicycle from Las Vegas to L.A. in under 48 hours.

He bet Jeff Gross $550,000 that he wouldn’t get a rainbow tattoo. And he wagered Antonio Esfandiari $50,000 that he couldn’t lunge everywhere he went for 48 hours. Some of the bets have been successful and some haven’t. But Perkins has more than enough money to cover the losses.
