Daniel Negreanu 2017 Poker Goals – Win 3 WSOP Bracelets

daniel-negreanu-igaming-interviewDaniel Negreanu may be the all-time leader in poker tournament winnings, but 2016 was a down year for the Toronto native. He made just $302,452 on the tourney circuit, which is not good for a guy with almost $32.9 million in winnings.

That said, he’s coming back with fire in 2017 and has released his goals for the year, which you can see below.

1. Through a post on FullContactPoker, Negreanu writes that his first goal is to cash for $2.5 million. He admits this was a huge failure last year, but Negreanu believes it’s definitely possible if he plays a full high-roller schedule in 2017.

2. Perhaps the toughest goal on the list is to win 3 WSOP gold bracelets. He admits this is a lofty mark, but one that he’s going to chase regardless.

3. Negreanu also wants to cross 100 career WSOP cashes this summer, which is realistic since he needs 8.

4. Kid Poker would also like to end the year as the all-time tournament winnings leader. He’s on top now, but he points out how Erik Seidel closed the gap to $1.5 million with a strong year.

5. Negreanu — the only player to win WSOP Player of the year twice (2004 & 2013) — wants to win WSOP POY a third time.

6. Making the November 9 is another of Negreanu’s goals. While the WSOP Main Event can be a crapshoot since thousands of players are involved, Kid Poker believes that his small ball approach is tailor-made to making the November Nine.

7. The 42-year-old poker pro has also set his sights on making $250,000 in cash games. This is definitely reasonable for a player of his stature.

8. One more thing that Negreanu wants to do in 2017 is continue producing more poker content for his fans. He’s off to a good start with this based on his recent blog post. And he wants to keep up his Full Contact Poker podcast while staying active on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
