2017 WSOP Schedule Released – 3 Online Bracelet Events on Tap

Saturday, January 28th, 2017

2017-wsopThe 2017 WSOP schedule has been finalized, and the most-notable change this year is 3 online bracelet events.

Running from May 20 to July 17, 2017 at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino, the event will feature 74 gold bracelet tournaments in all, with buy-ins running from $333 up to $111,111 (One Drop High Roller).

The $333 buy-in tourney will be the online NL Hold’em event (June 3), featuring a guaranteed $333,333 prize pool. Another online tournament is the $3,333 High Roller (July 3), which has no guarantee.

Other new and exciting events include:

– The Giant, a $365 buy-in NLHE tournament (June 9-July 8), will last on and off for five weeks.

– The Marathon, a $2,620 NLHE tourney with 100-minute levels and starting stacks of 26,200 chips, will run from June 12-16.

– $10,000 Tag Team event (May 31-June 2), where teams of 2-4 entrants can switch players during the 3-day tournament.

– $10,000 PLO Hi-Lo championship spanning from Jun 26-28.

– $1,000 super turbo bounty NLHE tourney (June 20), with 20-minute levels and $300 bounties.

– $2,500 Mixed Big Bet tournament (June 30), with 2-7 NL, NL five-card draw, Big O, NLHE, PLO, PLO 8/0B and 2-7 PL triple draw on the schedule.

wsop-november-nine-2016Once again, the WSOP Main Event will be delayed until November once the 9-player final table is formed. This format has worked well for TV coverage and fan interest ever since it was instated in 2008.

“The focus of the schedule remains squarely on two core principles: the biggest prize pools possible and diversity in offerings to provide something for everyone,” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel. “The 48th running of the globe’s biggest poker series promises to deliver on these core principles and ensure another action-packed summer at the Rio. Can’t wait to see you soon.”
