Partypoker Experiences Traffic Rise in 2017 – Here’s Why

Monday, December 25th, 2017

party-poker-2017-risePartypoker was once far and away the most successful online poker site in the world. And while Party has yet to reclaim this status, they did take a major step forward in 2017.

Previously a fringe top-10 site in terms of traffic, Partypoker has risen to number three on PokerScout’s rankings. They’re currently averaging 2,238 cash game players per 24 hours.

What’s Behind Partypoker’s Improvement?

One reason why Partypoker became more popular in 2017 is that they’ve done an excellent job of taking and using customer feedback. The site takes a number of customer suggestions and uses this info to launch new products.

Partypoker pro Patrick Leonard is actually in charge of a special unit that listens to customers and uses this info to change the site for the better.

The new partypoker LIVE tournament has been another successful venture. Tom Waters, managing director of Partypoker, explained how the company’s chairman, John Duthie, has been instrumental in running the live tour.

“John has had a huge impact in developing Partypoker LIVE this year,” said Waters. “He has vast experience in the field and always puts the player first. This has led to key decisions being made to ensure the tour focused on quality and player experience.”

Another thing that Partypoker has done is redesign its lobby and tables to have a sleeker, modern look. They also introduced more loyalty levels to accommodate a wider range of players.

The end result is that Partypoker’s traffic is rising amidst an online poker recession.

More on Partypoker’s History

party-poker-2017Partypoker launched in 2001 and was one of the earliest poker sites into the game. They wasted no time grabbing the top spot in terms of traffic.

Unfortunately, the United States passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in 2006. This banking regulation prevented sites like Partypoker from serving American customers. The same year saw Party agree with the US to exit their market.

While poker’s glory days may be behind it, Partypoker is proving that sites can still be successful with the right approach.
