Poker Bluff

When and How to Make a Poker Bluff

When it comes to poker strategy the most infamous approach is a poker bluff. Bluffing in poker can be very effective when used correctly. However, it is important to familiarize yourself with the power of the bluff, how to bluff and how your bluffing can be effective.

The poker bluff is essentially a lie about your hand. You bluff to make other players think that you have a much better hand then they do and, in turn, to get these other players to fold so that you can win the pot. So how do you do this? For starters, if you are playing a live poker game then it is important to show no signs of disappointment when you look at your cards. You need to put on your “poker face” and keep your facial expression or body language from cluing in the other players to the true nature of your cards. You can continue to bluff by making large bets and raises. When you raise and other players think you have a great hand they are likely to fold if their hand is only so-so, eliminating your competition and helping you to win.

A lot of people think that when you play online poker you cannot bluff. However, in actuality it is easier to bluff online. The best way to bluff is by making big bets and when you play online the other players cannot see your face or body language to make a judgment about whether or not you are bluffing.

One of the most important things to remember when it comes to poker bluffing is that you should do it only on rare occasions. If you bluff all the time then your opponents will catch on to you and won’t fall for your bluffs. However, bluffing can be a great tactic to help you win the pot once or twice per session at most.
